Rowan Ridge Press is my imprint for indie-published historical fiction novels. Yours, Dorothy and Wishwood are in my sixteenth-century Britain series, and The Bone Map, Letters from the Homefront, and Bootleggers & Basil are in my Utah series.
Rowans, or mountain-ashes, are small trees in the rose family with lovely, lacy leaves and clusters of red berries that feed the birds in winter. They were traditionally believed to protect against evil and bad luck, and some thought they represented portals into magical worlds: an appropriate symbol for books.
